History of Tatoi Airport
Tatoi Airport is located 15 Km north of Athens in the ancient region of Decelea, Northern Greece. It began operating in 1918, towards the end of World War I, to assist in military transportation. The Icarus School of Aviation was established within its premises in 1931. Foreseeably, Tatoi Airport is now home to the Hellenic Air Force Museum.
